About

A “useful” about page.

About the site:

1) The stuff we find interesting about ourselves and the world. This blog is still defining itself.
2) I had a lot of trouble finding training in the activities I enjoy. I’ll make it easy for you. Start by looking up at that “Circus” tab above.
3) Travel inspiration. When we go places, I’ll let you know about the places I went, not just where I went. Maybe you want to go there too.

Bios:

One of these is me

Gregory Randolph
I am a Monkey what does things and stuff. Since there are many Gregory Randolphs in the world, I’m the skinny one from Portland, Oregon, with curly, dishwater hair and brown eyes.

My background is in Computer Science. My interests are all over the place from reading, writing, and arithmetic to travel, languages, music, geek culture, physical conditioning, diet & nutrition, circus arts, plants, etc. You name it, I’m interested in it. There isn’t enough time in the world for the things I’d like to learn.

I know the differences between logical punctuation and printer’s punctuation. I just hate printer’s punc. and don’t give a shit that it’s what we use in America. Seriously, can’t we disambiguate our sentences? Anyway, is why I often put the period outside the quotes unless it’s part of the quote and spaces around the em-dash. Don’t like it? Don’t read it. Fowler-4-life, y’all.

Andrew McCollough
was born some time ago and is still alive, despite assertions (and prayers)  in some quarters to the contrary. None of that unfortunate incident involving the platypus was his fault, though he admits culpability in the matter of the sardines.  He couldn’t help it, they are delicious. Oh yes, and the pickled herring. He has a weakness for pickled herring. No, he isn’t Norwegian, it’s a character flaw. He studies attention and learning because scientists study what they are bad at doing. He would post a picture but not everyone believes him innocent in the platypus affair. C’est la faute de l’ornithorynque.

He speaks at least one language well, others, oh well, and some, well, he tries. He chafes at the limitations inherent in orthographic systems, but what would you suggest? He writes mostly poetry but is trying to do better.

Ars longa, vita brevis est.

Is made from awesome sauce and unicorn parts. But she needs to update this bio.
